“Once Upon a Time in a Cinema” is a 2026 Irish comedy- drama film directed by David Gleeson and starring Colin Morgan. The film is set in the 1980s and follows a cinema manager’s chaotic Friday night shift as he deals with various challenges, including burst pipes, rodents, unruly customers, and financial pressure. It was selected as the opening film at the Dublin International Film Festival in 2026 and is scheduled to be released in cinemas on May 1, 2026. The film has received positive reviews for its witty humour and heartfelt story, with many critics describing it as a nostalgic 1980’s drama.
